A live in couple is required to join a friendly family at their Family Home based near Newbury (Highclere). The family consist of 3 adult principals and 3 children age 7.5 (b), 6 (g) and 2.5 (b) and two (potentially three!) dogs, so the couple must love children, dogs and busy family life.
This is a live in couple (ideally) role but the family would consider a single person if the fit was right. One part of the couple will be housekeeper (full cleaning, laundry, ironing), household management/organiser, assist with dogs/dog walking/taking to vets, some light childcare (babysitting, occasional school runs) and household shopping/ordering and some light family cooking. The other part of the couple will be responsible for maintenance, gardens (mowing, hedgecutting, leaf collecting - general all round garden assistance to ensure it is well presented at all times), ad hoc driving duties and all round needs as required in a private household. The maintenance/garden role is likely to be part time (3 days per week, but they are happy to offer full time as well if preferred), and the housekeeper role is full time. Core days and hours will be Monday - Friday 7am - 7pm (with breaks in the day), but occasional weekend work will be required and days off during the week will be given if you are required to work a weekend. Flexibility is key, as well as a muck in attitude. One part of the couple must drive. Own car not essential.
The household is informal, and they are looking for a couple who will fit in really well with them, and be able to adapt their role to work to the requirements of the household/family. The couple should enjoy working in a service role within a private household, and must be extremely reliable, honest, kind, discreet, good with children and enjoy family life. This is a really lovely position for a couple who are looking to settle with a wonderful family for the rest of their career!
Accommodation is provided on site - a separate annexe with 1 bedroom, kitchen, sitting area and bathroom, with its own entrance. No pets or children - the accommodation is suitable for a couple only. Previous private household experience preferred, along with contactable references.
