#1321 - ASAP - Live In - Handyperson/Maintenance/Driver - Cotswolds - to start ASAP - Temp or Perm

This role is to start ASAP - will consider temporary options as well.

An all round and flexible individual is required to work as a maintenance person for a busy private household based in the Cotswolds. This job is to start as soon as possible. This is a live in role, between Chipping Norton and Stow on the Wold. The accommodation is suitable for a single person only, with no partner, children or pets. It is essential the candidate has good maintenance skills, is a good confident driver with clean driving licence and is a dog lover.

This candidate will work closely alongside another staff member doing the same role, so must be able to work well in a team.

Days and Hours of Work: Wednesday - Sunday: 7am - 4pm (Monday and Tuesday are days off). Flexibility is important, and you must be happy and willing to work every weekend.

Holiday Allowance: Statutory 20 days plus bank holidays. Holidays to be approved by the principal.

Duties will include, but not limited to:-

  • Assisting with care for an extensive car collection - this will include arranging MOTS and services, valeting, driving, checking they are working, organising anything that requires fixing etc

  • Driving the family as directed - confident driver essential

  • Garden maintenance - weeding, mowing, hedge cutting, leaf collecting, mowing - the family have a gardener but keeping on top of things when they are not there - helpful if the candidate has experience with garden machinery

  • Maintenance - handywork duties inside and outside of the house - such as painting, fixing things, putting together furniture, sorting contractors for more intricate specialist work and making sure things get done - excellent knowledge of DIY/maintenance skills essential

  • All round help, keeping the outside all tidy and clean - a very flexible muck in attitude is essential

  • Ad hoc errands

  • Caring for / looking after animals - including chickens, rabbit, rat, dogs - cleaning out and maintaining pens/pet houses, dog walking, vet visits, all round care ensuring they are kept safe and well at all times - essential you love animals and are happy to take full responsibility of the animals

  • Useful if the candidate has car knowledge to assist with a wide collection of cars, but not essential

  • A quick, fast paced household so a pro-active and efficient individual fits in well with this family

  • Car provided for work duties, but the candidate will need their own car for personal use.

  • The house is fully staffed, and being able to work as a team is essential. Upbeat, flexible and friendly personality required, but also discretion for the family is essential. It is important the candidate enjoys being in a service position and assisting the client with whatever is required and takes pride in their work.

Salary depends on experience.

You must be a very confident driver, fit and active (as there will be heavy lifting involved), reliable and happy to get involved with all and everything. Previous private household experience is preferred, but not essential, as well as a good honest work ethic.
